International Poetry Festival
International Poetry Festival
The International Poetry Festival has been a major event in Mauricie for 40 years, taking place mainly in Trois-Rivières, crowned the capital of poetry by Félix Leclerc in 1984. For 10 days, in the fall, nearly around a hundred poets from five continents take part in more than 250 activities, to which the general public is invited. The event program includes readings during aperitifs or festive evenings, poetry meals which take place morning, noon and evening, exhibitions in art galleries, writing workshops led by professionals , national and international competitions, poetic meetings with students from college and university institutions, talks, activities for children, poem ropes where visitors can express themselves, a poetry walk and more!
