Located in Saint-Eustache, in the Laurentians, the Légaré Mill is today the oldest water-powered mill in North America that has been in continuous operation since 1762. Still in operation today, it produces nearly 40 metric tons of wheat and buckwheat flour each year. These flours are sold at the gift shop, so that you can keep the tradition going at home!
At the heart of Le Baluchon Éco-villégiature, in Saint-Paulin in the Mauricie region, you can see a famous mill from the Quebec historical TV series Marguerite Volant. As a key part of the setting of this magnificent series set in 1763 at the end of the colonization period of New France —this mill is a highlight of the estate. It adds a romantic touch to the horse-drawn carriage rides and horseback rides offered on the grounds.
