J. Armand Bombardier Museum of Ingenuity
Tinkering Challenges
From now until August 23, 2026, the museum invites you to try your hand at Tinkering Challenges, an activity that encourages ingenuity. The concept is simple: three challenges, a few instructions and many possible solutions. Build a tower that can withstand shaking, make a vehicle stop at a precise spot or get a ball to hover at a given altitude.
This fun and stimulating activity gives children and their parents a chance to exercise their intuition, creativity and ability to adapt prototypes, while also learning the principles behind great inventions.
Combos
In the summer, the museum offers two combo activities to enhance your experience. The first combines a museum visit with a guided tour of the Bombardier Recreational Product (BRP) plant. Available on certain dates between the end of June and the end of August, this activity takes visitors through the different stages of making and assembling Ski-Doo® snowmobiles and explains the many trades involved.
The second combo pairs admission with a guided tour of the museum’s reserve. For 45 minutes, explore this space housing more than 70 unique vehicles. It’s a unique opportunity to learn more about the evolution of Joseph-Armand Bombardier’s inventions and the legacy he left to future generations. You will also see one-of-a-kind machines, such as industrial vehicles and prototypes that never made it to market!
Identity on the Land — Company Towns in Canada temporary exhibition
The Identity on the Land— Company Towns in Canada temporary exhibition, produced by the Société d’histoire du Lac-Saint-Jean and its L’Odyssée des Bâtisseurs museum institution, gives a fascinating look at the history of the towns that sprung up around different companies and industrial sites. Through an extensive collection of archival photographs and artifacts, learn how some companies helped build towns designed to be models of urban development. The Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier has added an exclusive section dedicated to Valcourt, helping visitors better understand the evolution of this municipality, which became the “snowmobile capital of the world.”
A variety of fun and educational family activities await!
