Lévis Forts National Historic Site
Explore with your family the last British fortification built on Canadian soil. A series of three detached forts were erected between 1865 and 1872 on Québec City's south shore to protect the city against a possible American invasion following the Civil War. You'll be impressed by Fort No. 1, the only remaining fort, which features remarkable technological innovations of the period. Wander through its vaulted tunnels, casemates, and other intriguing underground installations, and climb the fortification to see an impressive Armstrong cannon and to access to magnificent views of Québec City. You will also find the perfect picnic spot.
