Beauharnois Generating Station

Come visit Beauharnois Generating Station, one of the world’s largest hydropower facilities, located about 40 kilometres from Montréal. You’re sure to be impressed by its 36 generating units: stretched out over nearly a kilometre, they make this station Hydro-Québec’s most powerful run-of-river plant. In fact, this amazing monument to human know-how has been in a class of its own since 1932. The structure is also a treasured example of Québec’s cultural heritage, thanks to its award-winning Art Deco architecture. Don’t miss the interpretation centre featuring the captivating exhibit “Beauharnois Generating Station: Exceptional since 1932.” Important: Visitors must comply with certain obligations. Be sure to read the Schedule and practical information section of the Web site. Limited space; reservations required.
