Parc des Chutes de Rivière-du-Loup

The waterfall of the Loup River is certainly one of the most iconic features of the city. The waterfall is 33 metres tall and a source of inspiration and awe for tourists and locals who walk by it from the footbridge or admire it from below its bubbling waters that spill out in a deafening roar. Thanks to the dam at the top of the falls, Rivière-du-Loup was one of the first towns in the Bas-St-Laurent region to produce electricity in 1928, which was an important economic activity at the time.
